A record I never thought would be broken was beaten by Emily this evening at Beckenham Sports Club. We warmed up and then had a couple of attempts, getting one rally of 105. We then went back to a smashing drill and Emily said she wanted to try again. I was so pleased as we passed 324 (her past PB), but at 400 it was time for her lesson to end! Luckily her older sister Olivia was next in with me and kindly said we could carry on. Never in my dreams did I think we would pass Serena’s incredible rally of 1,143! But the hundreds starting going by and with it the belief started to come. We both battled away and finally the rally ended with a whopping total of 1,249 in 45 minutes! We were both physically and emotionally drained at the end! It was so nice that her father Derryn was able to watch Emily make it over the line.
